The Ares

Ares, a fitting name for a knife manufactured for the modern warrior. In Greek mythology Ares was the son of Zeus and Hera, and god of savage war, bloodlust and slaughter personified on the battle field.

The Spartan ARES is a military fighting/utility knife with several features that make it an obvious choice for the serious military professional. This knife was specifically engineered for, and with input from U.S. Special Operations Forces and Other Government Agencies. This tough working tool includes the following features.

Drop Point Blade Design: The drop point is characterized by the downward slope of the blades top side. This popular and very useful design form allows for strength of the blades tip by placing it in line with the users hand while keeping the upward curve of the cutting edge.

 Crucible CMP® S30V® Steel Blade: This steel was specifically formulated with the production of knives in mind. S30V is a martensitic stainless steel that offers corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and toughness. This steel provides substantial improvement in toughness over steels such as 440C and D2. Additionally, CMP S30V is very resistant to chipping and breaking. 

False top edge: The top edge forms a distal taper that can be sharpened by the owner if desired.

Deeply grooved thumb rise: This knife is designed with a deeply grooved thumb swell to assist in positive gripping and indexing of the blade.

True Finger Guard (Quillon): The substantial finger guard ensures that the operators hand will not slide forward and onto the blade during a thrusting action.

Deep Choil:  The deep choil allows the user to move his hand forward on the blade for intricate close in work

Durable Canvas Micarta® handle: Designed for minimum bulk and maximum dexterity the handles are crafted of canvas Micarta® to ensure a positive grip. The handles are firmly secured with three stainless steel stand offs running through the blade and into the handles. The handles are then fastened through the use of 6 stainless steel machine screws for an incredibly strong assembly.
