First, I gave it four stars because this is my first purchase from Spartan.
My first reaction what this piece is pretty awesome. The knife itself felt light in the hands but sturdy to the touch. The ease of a one handed opening is the best I have come across, closing was just as easy. After a few minutes i didn’t even notice it in my pocket. I did not have any issues with the knife in my front pocket hindering any of my activities.
Great little button lock. Very impressed with how much knife you get at this price point. Blade centering, lockup, fit and finish are great. Attention to detail in thumb stud, standoffs, material and workmanship are on point. Weight and feel in the hand is very good. Can’t wait to put this thing through some real world use and see how it holds up. Initial impressions are great, and it feels like it’s built for work.
Great knife! Loving the button lock. The knife is balanced well and light in the pocket. It’s a big knife that carries like a smaller blade. The finish is awesome. Just needs some black screws and thumbstud. my only complaint is a small amount of blade chatter when closed.
While I am certain that my reviews of Spartan blades have become repetitive, I must say that the Tanto Pallas Blackout is to say the least aesthetically pleasing, and the fit and finish, not to mention the strength of the knife, are the reason I keep coming back to Spartan. I am never without my Pallas, and if you order one, which I highly recommend you do, you too will never want to be without yours.
I had to have the tanto version. This blade will cut through anything you need to cut through. Very substantial overall. I do NOT go anywhere else for my blades, and will always give my business to Marc and Curtis.
Hands down the best knife for my daily carry. Lightweight, great feel in the hand and knowing that it's quality made in the U.S. all make Spartan Blades my go to
Even switzerland is not too far away for this great product... thanks a lot for all
I like this knife. Good quality and workmanship. Also, easy to open and close with one hand - just like they advertise. The two things I would like to see are options for assisted opening and a semi-serrated blade.
Pallas “Black Out” Tanto Button Lock / Thumb Stud / Flipper
In ancient Greece, Pallas (/ˈpæl əs/) was known as the Titan god of war craft. We gave this fitting name to our Pallas Tanto Button-Lock Flipper knife. The Pallas Tanto is designed by master craftsman Curtis Iovito, and includes a beefy CPM S35VN steel blade. The blade sites on a set of alpha bearings in an aerospace aluminum frame, making it both sturdy and lightweight.
The Pallas Tanto Flipper features a thumb stud and flipper tab, making it easy to open with minimal effort. With the Pallas Tanto, you can rest assured that your knife will always be quickly accessible when you need it most.
It’s not just that the Pallas Tanto can be quickly and easily opened -- it’s also both convenient and secure to carry. Thanks to our signature titanium arrow clip, this custom folding knife can be carried tip-up in your pocket. Additionally, its all-stainless steel hardware (including screws, spacers, thumb studs, and button) means that it will last for many years to come.
Our “Black Out” version of the Pallas features a black tungsten blade with DLC (Diamond-Like Coating), a stonewashed frame and clip, and a black mil spec anodized frame. If you’re looking for a durable, reliable, and beautifully handcrafted flipper folding knife, look no further than the Spartan Blades Pallas Tanto!
