    Excellent design and execution...

Posted by ray on May 15th 2017

I needed a knife that would be a good fit for my weakening diabetic hands, and a lock that would be easier to use. After accepting that I am not able to use frame locks like I used too, and lock backs were even harder for me, I decided to try a this button lock. It works perfectly for my needs. The handle is big and thick enough to fit my hands and at the same time disappeared into my pocket. Fit and finish was flawless.
My knife came somewhat sharp, and a few minutes on my green compound strop was all it took to make it cut quite well. This looks like a hand sharpened edge which is very nice to see, and is equally ground on both sides from what I can tell...good job Spartan Blades, that makes it easy for me to touch up the blade for a long time before I have to use a stone.

    Probably my favorite folder

I waited a couple of weeks to write this to see how I liked the knife after carrying it a bit. This is definitely a great hard use folder. It's extremely beefy and the lockup is as solid as I've ever seen. The blade shape is very practical for hard use applications, and the knife balances nicely in your hand. I will definitely be using this knife outdoors, and it makes a great EDC as well (in which role it alternates with my Akribis.) Overall I'm very satisfied, and this knife measures up to the high standards of everything I've seen from Spartan Blades. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I've carried everything from ZT to Benchmade to Reeves and everything in between. The Pallas is my favorite EDC. From build quality to design, it's hard to beat.

Haven't had much use of the Pallas yet but can see it was well designed for carry. Good heft to it yet isn't too unnecessarily heavy. Appreciate all the features of the knife so far. Won't be my only Spartan Blade for sure.

I bought this knive to see if it is worthy of a Christmas gift for my two girls. When I get home from vacation I will order two more.

    Excellent robust folder

At the outset, I should state that I prefer fixed blade knives; however, these oftentimes are unmanageable to carry everyday. So when I went looking for a folding knife it needed to be ruggedly built, dependable, and have a practical blade shape. This knife is excellent; certainly the best folder I have ever handled. The pictures on the website do not do it justice. I was worried that the aluminum grip would be too slick; no way, it fits the hand perfectly. Really solidly built. Like another reviewer said, it feels like you could jump on the knife blade with no problems; it is tough as nails. Well worth the price and I am happy to support this American business. Another great product from Spartan Blades!

    BEST KNIFE I OWN !

Would just like to thank Mr. Iovito for the best thought out knife I have ever held. Everything about it is about as close to perfect as I could imagine. The ergonomics are great because of the chamfering on the handles and handle shape. It flips easily, but I have to agree with Mr. Iovito, the studs are the way to go. Just opens so much quicker. The button lock is great, when you want to close it, just push it in, give a small inward flip of the wrist ( just keep your fingers out of the way) and it closes up. Also, the rounded spine is one of the details that make it perfect. My knife came to me so sharp that it would not only slice through paper, you could push cut though it. Before this knife I thought I had some good knives. I did. But his one is great. Thanks Spartan Blades for upping my standards.

Pallas Button-Lock / Thumb Stud / Flipper

Amongst the ancient Greeks, Pallas (/ˈpæl əs/) was known as the Titan god of war. There couldn’t be a more fitting name for this knife. The Pallas’ beefy CPM S35VN steel blade was designed by master knifemaker Curtis Iovito, and is set in a 6061 aerospace aluminum frame on alpha bearings.

Unlike some folding knives, the Pallas Button-Lock Flipper can be opened with a simple flick of the thumb stud or flipper tab. This makes it easy to deploy the blade when you need it most. This blade isn’t just practical, though: it’s also durable. The handcrafted Pallas Flipper Folding Knife features all-stainless steel hardware, including screws, spacers, thumb studs, and button.

With the Pallas Flipper Custom Folding Knife, you’ll never have to worry about carrying it safely and securely. That’s because this knife features our signature titanium arrow clip, making it possible to carry the knife tip-up while it’s held securely in your pocket. Note: this knife is not an automatic opener.

You’d be hard pressed to find a better customer flipper folding knife out there than the Spartan Blades Pallas.
