SOTER Folding Knife "Blackout" Edition – Premium EDC with S35VN Steel and RaceLock™ Innovation

Introducing the Spartan Blades Soter™, a premium everyday carry knife inspired by Soter, the Greek deity known as the “protector” or “savior.” True to its namesake, the Soter is built for those who demand reliability, strength, and precision in a compact folding knife.

This “Blackout” edition features a black G10 handle, matching black PVD-coated hardware, and a deep-carry monolithic clip—all designed to create a low-profile, tactical aesthetic that blends style with function.

Designed by Curtis Iovito, the Soter is equipped with a razor-sharp CPM S35VN stainless steel blade, prized for its excellent edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance—ideal for hard-use daily tasks and demanding environments.

At the core of the Soter is the innovative RaceLock™ system, a spine-mounted locking mechanism developed for rapid, one-handed deployment and secure, rock-solid lockup. Whether on the job, in the field, or on the go, the Soter delivers confident performance through thoughtful design and premium materials.

A must have in your go bag

I just received the Soter blackout in the mail and have been trying it out. I love the locking mechanism on this knife. It is secure. I am not a fan of liner or frame locks. I have seen them fail too many times. I like this new locking mechanism along with lock back mechanisms. Also, the blade is crazy sharp. You all did an amazing job on sharpening this. I would like to have seen the blade with a larger profile, but I believe you have found a great balance on size, material, and weight. I wish it were a bit less expensive, but the build of this knife is too notch. Out of the thousand or so knives I own, this one is the most functional high end knife I own. I will definitely be using it to practice with in my tactical knife training and will certainly carry as my new EDC. Thank you gentlemen for the build of this knife. You have made my other ones practically obsolete.
