I’ve had the Spartan Ares for a week now and decided to abuse the crap out of it. I know its a tactical/martial knife but I took it camping with me. I did some light brush clearing and other bushcraft related things with it to familiarize myself with its dynamic. It did okay at those tasks but again, tactical knife. It was exposed to salt water, sweat and hard edge use but no serious blemish and the blade is still paper cutting sharp. It is a very well balanced blade. I did not budget for the kydex sheath so I have the black nylon which has a bunch of loops and paracord that left me perplexed as to their function but maybe somebody in the service would use and know what they are about. I figured out a way to fold the belt attachment in such a way that made it inside the waist where legal but also let it hang off outside when in the woods. In short I got it as a defensive and survival knife at the recommendation of a Ronin Tactics video and thought if an expert with real life experience respects the knife then maybe they know what they’re doing. I suspect I’m right, backed up with the fact that I have my own limited martial arts experience as well as being a hobbyist blade smith as well. I carry this with confidence and give a hat tip to Spartan for making an outstanding weapon/tool. Worth every penny.
My Spartan Ares arrived today in the mail. My initial impressions are very positive. This is a blade that demands respect from its handler as well as inspires confidence. I put my other edc blade away as soon as I gripped the Ares. Seems like a good marriage where form and function compliment each other. Perfect fighter. Probably decent at other tasks as well.
Good looking design, but blade and coating were not. Coating had scuffs and scratches. Blade had dull spots and needed sharpened. I polished and sharpened the blade and now its way better. Quality control needs work. Solid blade material and nice looking design though.
Legendary style of curves, a true welcomed addition to carry.

Perfect Knife!
I love this knife it's the best I've owned in a long time first thing I cut was a ham and cheese sandwich the sandwich didn't stand a chance
The overall quality of this knife is amazing. Great balance. Great edge. Great craftsmanship. Would recommend this knife to everyone.
Cuts like a dream and the company is exceptionally easy to work with. Thank y’all for the awesome work; I just might buy a second one someday!
This is definitely more of a preliminary review, but I have a strong feeling that my views will not change given some time. This is my first Spartan knife purchase and so far I'm very impressed with it. Right out of the box I could tell the level of quality in manufacturing and material are top notch. It is weighted very nicely and the grip is excellent. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to put it to use yet, but I look forward to it. I definitely plan on making future purchases from Spartan Blades, as there are many more of the knives that have my attention.
