SHF Plague Doctor
Believe it or not, I have three Plague Doctors, two of which I bought at Spartan Blades USA. I have a blue S45VN 3.9”, a Chad Nichols Damascus purple 3.9”, and a black MagnaCut 3.25”. First, the knife’s artistic theme is deeply meaningful as the art is well thought out to represent two (or more) years in which we all lost family, friends, and life as we knew it. Since I love knives and collecting them, the SHF Plague Doctor marks a significantly unifying milestone as we were all together in experiencing and surviving the pandemic. Second, the design execution. The engraving is so purposely executed that we won’t lose it in daily usage. It’s forever, unlike the disappearing etches of by-gone knife adornment. The blade choices are comprehensive presenting black, near mirror S45V or MagnaCut, and Chad Nichols Damascus. Offering a number of color options, the most striking, IMO, is Chad Nichols Damascus in purple 3.9”. The depth of almost 3-D handle and blade are breathtaking and the purple showcases this effect best. Also, if you’re into the art or have larger hands, you’ll want the greater real estate of 4”. The black 3,25 fits like a glove in my small hands and the smaller blade size provides ease of proper execution. Removal of the clip provides real comfort. Third, the Spartan Harsey collaboration is a time-proven and award-winning EDC that manages to combine real strength and intricate beauty. That’s difficult to accomplish. Fourth - The customer service is sterling! Kimberly is prompt, friendly, open-hearted. Jake will promptly reconfigure to one’s needs. Spartan will create the knife exactly as you ask for; this is getting rarer and rarer. Fifth, this is a top of the line organization through and through. You can trust them, and so can I. Last, the accessories like the sturdy, well- padded and high quality zippered knife pouches and the soft, perfectly fitting leather sheath are exactly what I needed to protect and store these masterpieces. I use two of them regularly. The purple Damascus Is a safe queen.
