Great get off me blade. Love the ring for retention. Great steel. Sharp and pointy! Have carried as a boot knife, in the waistband, even at the rear of the neck / collar. Good quality sheath.
Very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. This is more than a functional tool for your kit, it is knife art.
I previously had a benchmade SOCP, the Spartan CQB Tool is FAR superior. The steel is much better, the finish is superior, the knife out of the box was sharp, tool machining is superior, the edges are nicely beveled whereas the BM version they are edgy and unfinished. The sheath is superior as well. I carry mine IWB with two belt loops in a canted vertical position at left appendix opposite to my carry gun. Don't go a day without carrying this now. Where the SOCP feels like it was stamped and painted by a 12 year old kid at a press the Spartan Blades CQB tool feels like a quality blade. This blade belongs and will stay right next to my Emersons and Striders.
Spartan Blades CQB Tool was my first Spartan Blade in an attempt to add some new gear and replace some old gear. Beautiful craftsmanship, sweet design, a functional gtf off me tool. Multiple orders impending.
I wear this gem horizontally on my left hip, ring to the inside making for a quick acquisition in an emergency. Fantastic design .. a LOT of thought went into making this knife. I can't recommend this highly enough if you're looking for something to ward off an attack close in, allowing you time to access your primary weapon.
In a tight spot. This will get you out. Great workmanship.
If it functions and holds up as well as it looks, and I have no doubt that it will, I've made a great purchase. Good job guys.
The quality & sturdiness of this cqb tool is outstanding. The user will feel confident in its use knowing its deadly capabilities. The craftsmanship of this tool is unparalleled & evident. Spartan blades are made to do the job when it's needed. De oppresso liber.
The Spartan CQB is my third Spartan knife. I can never say enough about Spartan Blades. As always, the quality is obvious right off the bat. I showed my 14 year old son the knife (without telling him the brand). He knew right away that it was a Spartan. He loves my other Spartan's and recognized the finish and commented on the clean lines. As usual, my biggest problem is figuring out which one to get next!
The Spartan CQB tool is aptly named and specially designed for Close Quarters Battle. The CQB tool is a ring dagger with a kydex sheath. The sheath compliments the ring on the end the knife for quick removal. The sheath is designed to lash into MOLLE /PALS behind magazine or other front pouches on a vest or be carried on belt or inside the waist band. The design concept of the CQB tool originates with Greg Thompson, an instructor of close quarters fighting techniques (Hand To Hand) for the US Special Forces. Mr. Thompson is owner / founder of the H2H/Team ROC of the Fort Bragg based training group and developer of the Special Operations Combatives Program (SOCP). Mr. Thompson developed the new combatives program for US Army Special Operations Forces and this CQB tool is part of program gear. The CQB Tool or "transition tool" is used to compliment this program by providing a slim easily stowed knife with rapid acquisition for, "get the heck off me", grappling situations encountered in a CQB fight. The ring and slim profile design allows for the operator to quickly pull and utilize the dagger; breaking an attackers grasp and allowing the soldier to transition back to his primary weapon system without re-sheathing until safe to do so."
