I’ve been wanting a Spartan knife since seeing the videos of them at Blade Show in 2018. The Formido definitely doesn’t disappoint. It’s a perfect size for me to cary around all day. It’s a bit heavier than it looks, though I wouldn’t call it a heavy knife. I like the weight, it feels substantial in my hand. The finish is perfect and the machining on the handle is really nice. Also, the sheath is the best fitting kydex sheath I’ve ever used. I have several Tops knives, which have great kydex sheaths but this one is a whole new level. It fits the blade so perfectly, it’s just incredible. I also have to say I’m very happy with Spartan’s customer service. I emailed a question I had about sheath mounting hardware and I had a reply the same day that was super helpful. If you love high quality knives and love America, buy a Spartan. You’ll be thrilled that you did.
Very slim and trim knife. Very easy to carry and conceal. Mine came sharp and ready to run. I’ve carried it for 7months at least 3x a week.
This knife is truly in a class of its own, like their online blog says I could not agree more. I ordered the black Formido and I love the matte color, it’s sleek and looks fantastic it’s a beautiful knife. The steel used is superb, it’s super sharp out of the box, the fact that they use the S45VN steel goes to show Spartan Blades truly wants the best steel in their knives. The PVD coating makes this knife feel very good in the hands, it’s smooth and yet slip resistant in water, this knife grips well in the hands for not having handles. I love the ergonomics and most of all the triangles, in the handle give it that thumb traction as well as a very unique look. You do not have to wrap this knife in paracord, unless you like adding that to your knife, it’s not needed. I went with the ballistic nylon sheath, top quality. Spartan Blades goes the distance. Made in the US, this could not get any better!

At first glance and first hold you can see and feel the elite quality of this blade. It is very well designed and great craftsmanship. Customer service was amazing and very kind. I paracord wrapped the handle and it is a normal carry and a hiking pack carry as well.
I needed a light weight hiking blade. Though I’m not a fan of handless blades, I was very impressed by the way the Formido’s handle recesses and jimping provide a very stable grip. Very sharp S35VN blade with an excellent point. This package is topped of by a top quality kydex sheath. The Formido is a low profile functional cutting tool.

As someone who likes to carry a fixed blade everyday for practical and tactical uses, it doesn’t get any better than the Formido in my opinion. Besides SB being a great American company to support, this knife is so balanced and beautiful. The strength and size is fantastic for only 4oz. My XL hands fit the handle great, and don’t feel the need to wrap it with anything. I love the simplicity and will proudly have it on my side for years to come.

Spent months searching for my replacement blade, after sensing that my skill set had grown beyond what my Ikken could support. I found that Spartan Blades tends to design specific knives for specitic use brackets, and took the jump on a Formido. Steel is clearly outstanding, as is the DLC coating, but what blows my mind about this blade is the dedication to theory behind the blade. From the blade profile and length, to the overall size of the tool, this thing is utterly perfect for a do it all fighting knife. The thin profile makes the knife just able to be concealed, while the grip is the size needed for certain more advanced techniques. The blade is the perfect length for a carry blade, any less or more would be less than ideal. This blade is fantastic, and should be more common than it is.
