Ok for the cost of this item, they did very very well on this one. Wow. Flat ground, broad blade, good stock stickness, good tough hard polymer type handle scales, full tang. Awesome modern version of the Marine Raider Stiletto. I served 4 years in the USMC and where this knife proudly on my belt or chest rig. Do not sleep on these guys.
This knife is the gateway drug for the quality blades one might expect from Les George and Spartan Blades! I own a 3rd Pattern Sikes Fairbairn dagger from WWII and a Boker V42 and I think the Raiders and Commandos of Allies would have loved this knife. I also love the fact that George recognized that construction of the Raider is done by our allies in Taiwan. The construction is top notch and the sheath, while reminiscent of Cold Steel's SRK is just better built with no gaps and an excellent "snick" when the knife is firmly inserted thanks to a couple notches that secure the hand guard. Sharpness is comparable to the other daggers on the market but I did further sharpen once in hand for further utility. -Make no mistake this is a dagger used for penetration and it will excel at that task, whether piercing soup cans or sentries. Overall this is a great knife at a very fair price.
This is a wonderful dagger! I can't believe I managed to snag one of the first 30 on the website. I put a Tek-Lok on mine and have been wearing it around the house the last two days since it showed up a day early! The sheath holds the knife to my complete satisfaction. I am in no rush to have a custom sheath made, like it is with so many fixed blades from other companies. This fits perfectly into my collection of historical combat daggers. This is going into my "belt knife" rotation. I hike in mountain lion country with small dogs frequently and it feels nice to have a serious knife on my belt that I hope to never have to use. Spartan Blades is a great company that has great people working for them!
