Spartan Phrike – Self Defense / Utility Knife
Inspired by ancient Greek mythology, the Spartan Phrike Knife is named after the goddess of horror and fear—Phrike, whose name translates to “tremor” or “shivering.” Despite its compact size, this custom self-defense and utility knife is meticulously crafted to deliver maximum performance, portability, and reliability for everyday carry, tactical scenarios, and outdoor adventures.

Outstanding blade, and certainly good for its intended use, highly recommend it for EDC depending on which sheath you use, I think the kydex is he best choice for EDC with this blade, but certainly a good self defense knife.- Great knife,- looking forward to future- purchases from Spartan knives.
I have had this knife for a little over a year now and it is still just as sharp as the day it came in the mail. I carry this knife with me everywhere I go and no one is the wiser. The kydex sheath works perfectly and is easy to extract without being so loose that I worry the knife might fall out. I even purchased one for my brother for his birthday last week he was the one who introduced me to spartan blades. We both love our phrike and will continue to highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great quality knife.
Quick service and a fantastic product. I expected nothing less from former United States Army Green Berets. Thank you gentlemen for your service and your continued pursuit of excellence in quality knife making.
The phrike is absolutely outstanding. Really easy to conceal and carry on your person. Beautiful construction and the sheath it comes with is just as good! I have searched for the perfect edc fixed blade and I believe I have found it! I found slight blemishes on the blade to where it looks like oil is on the coating, also there is a tiny piece of metal that is still connected to the sharpening choil that wasn’t cut off. Other than those two very minute imperfections, the phrike is perfect!
Anything that costs less than a Spartan blade is inferior. Any blade that costs more is unnecessary. The Phrike is an excellent self defense blade. I wear mine right around my neck. I have never found a blade that could equal a Spartan.
Perfect medium size knife! Flatter handle makes it easy to carry when running trails and around town concealed. Perfect sheath makes it quick to access. Very satisfied. Its a well made knife. Easy to carry so I will carry it. Large enough to do some damage if some critter goes after me on trail.
Would e super cool if you guys would make a scale model replica of the Horkos in this 8.5” length also! The Phrike is an awesome knife guys, keep up the quality work! Both thumbs up from me!
This knife is such high quality , fits perfect in the had , no discomfort at all , perfect for scout carry in my duty uniform. Love this knife it suits me for EDC in uniform. Quality of scales and steel will let me hand this down to future generations
The Phrike is another excellet product from Spartan Blades. I'm continually amazed at the attention to detail, the quality steel is a true delight. I put my new Phrike to my Shapton Glass HC 6000 grit, and then my leather Strop with micro fine honing compound. The edge is so sharp it would make Hattori Hanzo of Kill Bill fame jealous. If I had to say one thing negative about the Phrike, its that the handle grip is a bit small. I have medium sized hands and normally have no problems with any grips. I went ahead and did a decent reverse wrap, tuck and fly tying knot with some cord and the fit is better for me now. I am very happy with every purchase I've made with Spartan Blades. I gladly recommend them to anyone who wants superior quality in knife construction.
OK, so I was looking to replace my duty carry knife. My older knife was another custom made, it is a good knife just a little heavy and thick. I struggled for a couple days trying to decide between the enyo, the cqb tool, and the Phrike. In hindsight I probably should have contacted Spartan blades to get their opinion. Regardless I am quite happy with my decision. I was worried from looking at the pictures that the knife in its IWB kydex would not keep the handle high enough on my hip so as not to be covered by my gun belt. It is not a problem, the handle is easy to get to, and with just the one strap holding the sheath to my interior belt there is enough movement so as not to interfere with me getting in and out of my work truck. The knife is well made, lightweight and comfortable in the grip. The knife is thin, even with the scales on the handle yet sturdy. The thickness for me is perfect so that I don't have to adjust my gunbelt with an odd fit. I also ordered the nylon sheath as a separate item. Our vests are outer carrier vests so I just keep the molle nylon sheath attached to my vest at all times. I simply transfer the knife from my beltline to my vest as I need to. For me it is a good set up because the vest would interfere with me getting to my knife quickly.
