Just received my Ronin Shinto and I’m very pleased with it. The Ergonomics are awesome it really feels good in the hand it’s well balanced and a beautiful knife. The kydex sheath fits perfectly and holds the knife tightly
Quick delivery and right out of the box you can tell the quality and craftsmanship of the blade. I am expecting a lifetime of use from this knife.
Great blade and Sheath, sharp out of the box, good weight and balance, it is worth every penny.
Balance and edge are great. Fits the hands well. I love spartan knives!
I just received the Ronin Shinto blade and cannot yet grasp the reality of it's awesomeness. I have never owned a recurve blade before and this one is frightening and awesome at the same time. It has a great heft and balance to it. It is sligtly heavy but not cumbersome. The handle is hand friendly and has an eccellent grip to it.. good if you have wet hands. I would NOT use this blade for utility. This is a defensive/fighting blade and in my opinion should be kept solely for that purpose. This is going to be my new concealed carry knife. You get what you pay for and this blade ain't cheap. However, you will probably never be served better by a fighting blade. Hope this helps.
I ordered this to have a carry blade. The blade itself is perfect in every way. The kydex is a bit wide and can be uncomfortable to wear under cloths but with a bit of work on a belt grinder it fits great. Can’t compliment this blade enough. Will never carry anything else
This is a reasonably expensive knife, and worth every penny. I really fell for it when I did some reading on Tu Lam and his post military journey. In many ways it mirrored my son’s post Marine Corp journey and I felt a connection to this knife as a tribute to my son, Tu Lam and all our veterans who have given so much. Buy this knife, you will not regret it!!!
This knife is incredibly well made and very robust. It has great balance and is aesthetically pleasing. I went with the kydex sheath for carry purposes and it worked out better than I could've imagined. I will definitely be buying more products from Spartan Blades in the future. Great work!
My only concern was there was a slight blemish on the finish when it arrived, i assumed it was due to the sheath rubbing. After contacting customer service I was told to try applying some oil with a light brush. Once I did that the blemish cleared up and the blade color was restored. Excellent work! And awesome customer service!
Got my trainer and just realized I never reviewed the original knife. This knife is extremely well made. It came out of the box with probably the best factory edge I’ve seen. Anyone who would be interested presumably knows how to keep their blades sharp, but it’s a nice indicator of quality. Weight and balance is perfect - the knife feels alive in your hand. It shows that it was designed by a martial artist, but it would also work very well as a field knife. This is now my go-to fixed blade, and it’s hard to imagine improving it. Highly recommended and worth the price.
Spartan-Rōnin Shintō - Shinto meaning, “The practice of establishing a connection between the ways of the old and the ways of the new.” This knife is a great balance of old and new design and form making for a highly functional combat knife. Tu Lam is a retired Special Forces soldier, "Green Beret" and teammate of the Spartan Blades founders during their time in Okinawa where they worked as snipers; Tu Lam was part of an assault troop in the same company. Tu Lam has quickly become the “Go to” authority to military and law enforcement training and is the power house behind RONIN Tactics, Inc., an organization that trains many of the top tier military and law enforcement units in the world in H2H and knife techniques.
