    Ferocious full size

Posted by Connor on Mar 29th 2021

The Shinto is an insanely capable combatives blade, with length and weight squarely in that full sized sweet spot. For most people, this knife will be smaller than you expect when it arrives - which is a good thing in my opinion. You can pretty clearly see some Kiku Matsuda influence in the design via Tu Lam, with a really characteristic spear point recurve. This thing cuts like a demon, punctures like a tanto, and balances very well. I have a black one for combatives, a tan one for bushcraft, and an aluminum trainer. All are fantastic.

Great knife. First time I've spent this much money on a knife in my life and it's worth it. Quality is evident out of the box. Razor sharp edge, clean lines, kydex sheath fits like a glove. Everything is perfect. Can't wait to get in the field now and test it out.

To start off, this isn't a review of performance or durability as this blade is being used as a CCW I wanted to write that I was impressed with the design, materials, handling, balance in the hand. I opted for the kydex sheath. The sheath is also well designed and holds knife very securely. I can forsee this blade being a good option for anyone wanting a knife to fill multiple roles.

    Blade for the wilderness

Posted by Michael on Feb 10th 2021

This blade is sharp, balanced and well designed. First days of using it my findings were, strikes a ferrocerium off the spine of knife. Processes fatwood (shavings) off spine of knife. Splits hardwoods fine with using the baton method. Chops and hacks, can create 7 notches, tent stakes and finer work using choil or (not) you prefer. Last if I find myself needing it for self defense, it’s capable.

Truly worthy of being in the Elite category. Sturdy, tough, feels very good in the hands. If you need a combat knife, a utility knife, a SHTF knife, or just like collecting - then stop reading and just buy it already!

Spartan-Rōnin Shintō: Forged in Tradition, Designed for Action

Embrace the spirit of the Spartan-Rōnin Shintō, a combat knife that beautifully balances the essence of old and new design. Inspired by the philosophy of "Shinto," meaning the practice of connecting the ways of the old with the ways of the new, this knife, designed by Tu Lam and Curtis Iovito, stands as a testament to functionality and craftsmanship.

Key Features:

  • Philosophical Roots: "Shinto" embodies the practice of connecting traditions with contemporary approaches. The Spartan-Rōnin Shintō pays homage to this philosophy, creating a blade that seamlessly merges old and new design elements.

  • Renowned Designer: Co-designed by Tu Lam, a retired Special Forces soldier teammate of the Spartan Blades founders. Tu Lam's background as a "Green Beret" and his extensive experience in military and law enforcement training make him a respected authority in the field.

  • Military and Law Enforcement Training: Tu Lam is the driving force behind RONIN Tactics, Inc., an organization that trains top-tier military and law enforcement units globally in hand-to-hand combat and knife techniques. His expertise is further showcased as the Co-Host of The History Channel's "Forged in Fire, Knife or Death” television series.

  • Blade Construction: The Spartan-Rōnin Shintō boasts a 5 5/8” fixed re-curve blade made from high-performance CPM S45VN steel. The double deep cryo-heat treatment ensures durability, while the physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating, available in Flat Black or Flat Dark Earth, adds a tactical edge.

  • Handle Excellence: The handle is crafted from Black CE Canvas Micarta®, providing a secure and comfortable grip even in challenging conditions.

  • Sheath Options: Choose between a lined Nylon MOLLE sheath (available in Black, Coyote Tan, or MultiCam) for versatile carrying options or a Kydex sheath with Belt Loop (available in Black or Coyote Tan) for a secure and streamlined carry.
